AnimSync Self-Hosted Available today
Your server. Your files.
The full product in three containers on your own hardware: a web server, the API and PostgreSQL. Source files and review videos live on a volume you control and back up.
Everything, on your network
Full product
Planning, assets, immutable versions, video and 3D review, and the production workflow.
Pipeline-friendly
Publish from build scripts and DCC tools with the sto command line; uploads are idempotent and hash-verified.
Nothing phones home
No telemetry, no licence server and no AnimSync account needed to run it.
Light to run
About 1 GB of free memory is enough to run it; nothing is transcoded on the server.
Runs on a NAS
Synology Container Manager (DSM 7.2+) works, as does any machine with Docker.
Safe upgrades
Database migrations run on start, and a newer database refuses an older release instead of corrupting it.
Good to know
Sign-in for self-hosted installs
Not yet. Self-hosted installs currently have no login, so run AnimSync on a trusted network or VPN. Local accounts, Microsoft and Google sign-in are planned.
Licensing
Commercial seat-based and unlimited-seat licences are planned. They will be signed files checked offline, so a firewalled studio never needs to call out.
Integrations
Perforce, Git, Jira and an Unreal plugin are planned. Today you publish from the web or the command line.
